Upload Your Media
Upload your video or audio file and SyncWords will automatically detect the file type and codec and prepare it for synchronization. We accept a huge range of audio and video file types, allowing uploads with a generous 5GB limit. This saves you the time and effort of converting files before sending them our way. Some common formats supported include: mp4, m4v, wmv, mov, flv, avi, 3gp, mpg, ogg, mp3, aac, wav, aiff, wma – in addition to dozens of other formats.
Upload Your Transcript
Upload your transcript in any one of the following file formats: TXT, DOC (Word), DOCX (Word), and ODT (Open Office). You can also paste your transcript directly into SyncWords, or we can compose a transcript if you don’t have one.
Ingest Caption Files
You can also upload an existing SCC or SRT caption file instead of a transcript. Customers who have SCC or SRT files for projects, and require re-timing can upload these files and SyncWords will re-time the file preserving the segmentation, styling, and positioning of the captions. This is a powerful feature saving significant time and effort for users that already have captions.

SyncWords gives you great flexibility to customize your caption files. Choose the number of lines and characters per line in your caption files. Style your captions by setting the font, font color, background color, and placement. You can also use more advanced options such as offsetting the start time of your caption file or enforcing caption separation. You can export transcripts with or without timestamps in several formats: as a Text (.txt) file, in Word (.docx) and as a PDF. Time-stamped transcripts feature timings on speaker changes and paragraph breaks. Segmented time-stamped transcripts are useful as readable caption files. You can also download the original transcript from SyncWords, whether you uploaded it yourself or we created it for you.

When you need a transcript, SyncWords provides outstanding quality and value. We never rely on speech recognition to generate transcripts. Our extensively trained transcribers capture every spoken word, use proper punctuation, appropriate speeaker labels, and sound cues.
We produce verbatim transcripts that are cleaned of ums, ahs, false starts and repeated words.We follow the Chicago Manual of Style by default for transcription work. Alternately, you can request that we follow the DCMP captioning guidelines when we create your transcript.
When requesting a transcript, SyncWords allows you to provide guidance to the transcriber handling your media. Please include notes with any special considerations or conventions you would like us to follow. You can also upload files that are helpful to the transcriber, including documents that contain specialized vocabulary, speaker names, and other information.

SyncWords provides an easy way to review and edit the work performed by the software. Words on the transcript are highlighted in time with the audio, indicating where the captions have been synced. Users can also see where the tool identified speaker labels and sound cues.
The Review Tool allows users to edit both text and timing. User friendly Start and End anchors can be applied to text and sound cues, making timing adjustments simple yet precise. As adjustments are made, SyncWords re-syncs around the edits on the fly.
Spectrogram and Playback Features
A spectrogram provides a visualization of the audio, making it easy to discern human speech against other sounds and place anchors accurately.
Users can adjust the playback rate, jump to points on the audio timeline, or navigate by double-clicking on a word in the transcript.
The Review Tool offers confidence data as a visualization layered over the transcript to quickly direct users to sections that may need review and editing.

Add, remove, or adjust text in your transcript. You can search to quickly find and jump to words you want to edit.
Speakers and Cues
SyncWords intelligently parses your transcript and identifies portions that include non-spoken metadata, like speaker names or labels, and non-spoken audio cues, like “Applause”. You can adjust, add and remove these labels, and their underlying text, easily.
SyncWords allows you to make timing edits to any word in the transcript. Select the word you want to adjust, and set the start or end time of the word in the audio. A handy waveform allows you to zoom into the timeline and buttons allows you to preview the audio around the edit you are placing.
ProSync service offers professional review and correction of SyncWords' output to ensure 100% timing accuracy of speech and sound cues.
This service is highly recommended for projects that must meet the highest accuracy standards.
ProSync service does not include transcript edits.

SyncWords is a pay-per-use service. We only charge when a project is submitted. Our pricing is transparent, without ongling fees or charges.
SyncWords accepts credit card payments for projects. Charges are pro-rated to the minute, based on media duration. When a project is created, SyncWords will summarize the costs and ask for approval before any charge is made.
One or more credit cards can be added to an account.
Enterprise accounts allow consolidated billing for several users or departments within an organization. In addition to credit card payments, enterprise accounts are eligible to submit offline payments via check, wire, and payment order.
Special rates are available to enterprise accounts based on volume and pre-payment.
We use powerful 256-bit encryption for all transactions to keep them secure.
SyncWords is PCI Compliant. We use a leading third-party payment provider to handle all credit card transactions. As a result, we never store credit card information.
